Break
Michael and I are going somewhere for spring break, and I'm pretty much choosing without him (and he is a pretty dependent guy, so I think I'll end up doing that anyways).
But it's hard. What will entertain us for 7 goddamn days? I know I'm completely obsessed with food at the moment, but eating won't take up a week, and plus, I need something that would entertain HIM as well. (Unless we just hang out in the hotel all day playing our little handhelds; he just got a PSP).
However, I do have an idea for the nights (or lunches, depending):
The Russian House (And looking at that menu, FUCK. I can't just choose one or two here. I'm tempted to have us go back at least a second day! The pierogi!! Apple-wood bacon, OMG. And the WILD SAUSAGE SAMPLAR. WILD BOAR, RABBIT. I've wanted to try rabbit in ever. (Venison is fine, but not the best. Or at least venison burgers aren't.) And I LOVE cured meats!! The Shashlik! I LOVE saffron rice. I'd go fucking POOR with all the saffron. (Which isn't hard to do, frankly). The pelmini look wonderful. I love mushroom cream. (I love mushrooms.) And the zapechionaya baranina!)
The Melting Pot (This goes without saying. I love fondue, although I do know certain people who hate runny, liquid-y, sticky cheese, and why this would not necessarily make the final cut. Although FONDUE. Thank you Swiss.)
Oya (A little pricey, but there's some stuff on there I want. Particularly revolving around pears and LOBSTERS. I haven't had lobster for so long! I miss you little sea-roaches!) (And now I'm not sure if I miss them that much......)
Oyamel (I was scrolling down, thinking 'typical good Mexican restaurant. Then I saw quail. QUAIL. OK. Let me repeat that. QUAIL. Do you know how TASTY quail is? It's tender, juicy, soft.... It's the EXTREME chicken. Chicken is fine, good, normal. But then, quail is like the superb cousin. I like quail.)
...
I'm going to come back to this, but I want a Thai restaurnat, and the Mongolian BBQ. But I've NEVER (IN MY LIFE) gone to the same Thai restaurant. My dad and I have tried. We have written down the address of the restaurant and come back to it. It is never there. NEVER. I figure I'd just wander around again until I find a NEW one. (And there's pretty much only ONE Mongolian BBQ for me, and my dad and aunt know the way to it, even though they won't be there, lol.)
